A Lifelong Commitment
Dora Frank was founded in NYC with the goal of creating jewelry that will last a lifetime. Gold has always had sentimental value to Dora both through her middle eastern culture and through the meaning found in the pieces themselves. Egyptian and Syrian culture serves as the inspiration behind many of Dora Frank’s handmade jewelry. We hope that you can connect to a piece and cherish it just as much as we do!
Handmade pieces are first carved out of wax, then turned into a mold, and finally cast into fine metal. This process is called Lost Wax Casting; the oldest known examples of this technique are approximately 6,500 years old. Traditional methods like lost wax casting are a labor of love with a unique human connection embedded into each piece.
Made to order pieces are made entirely by hand from start to finish, so each piece has unique handmade character and authenticity, tailored especially to you.
By supporting Dora Frank, you are choosing to support a woman owned and operated small business with a love and passion of all things creative.
At Dora Frank, all handmade pieces are substantial, solid, never plated, never filled.

Ethical, Sustainable, Local
From the design process to packaging, Dora Frank makes a conscious effort to practice sustainable and ethical habits. We use metal casters that exclusively recycle secondhand gold*, and we have 100% plastic free packaging materials.
*Secondhand gold is not guaranteed on chains or findings that Dora Frank does not have cast themselves, although we are still sourcing findings from reputable, ethical companies.
